El Paso Airspace Closure?

This morning the FAA closed the airspace over El Paso for what they said was 10 days, grounding everything. For reference, after 9/11 the whole country was shut down for about 3 days. Ten days for El Paso? This seems crazy. I'm really hoping because of...you know...aliens.

Well now they lifted the closure. FAA posted that there's no threat to commercial aviation and flights are back to normal.

The story they're going with now is that it had to do with Mexican cartel drones crossing into U.S. airspace. Officials say the military used counter-drone tech possibly testing stuff out of Fort Bliss—to take them out, and once it was handled, they reopened everything.

Some reports mention it was tied to experimental counter-drone operations targeting cartel activity near the border.

Cartel drones have been a problem for years = smuggling, scouting Border Patrol, all that. It's not like this is brand new. So why announce a full 10-day shutdown late at night, then reverse it in the morning? Feels like either poor planning, overreaction, or maybe they were testing something and didn't want to admit it right away.

I don't buy that it was "cartel drones." Something else is going on and too much attention was being put on the area. Aliens baby.
